Tech Tool: Keeping track of passwords Keepass

Tech Tool for December 2009: Keepass

Do you have trouble keeping track of all your passwords? Log in here, register there, everything online these days requires a log in and password. Then you probably have some for work, some for home, etc.

Recently, I've been using a free password filing system called Keepass, it is essentially an electronic filing system for all your user names and passwords. Essentially, you input all the different account names, website addresses (if required) and notes to remind you of what that account was for.

You do have to do some up front work in entering in all the information, but once done, this is a great assurance.

Also, you will need one overall password for the Keepass system.

Still one is better than one hundred. Start the new year out by giving yourself an hour to set it up.

Happy organizing,
Meg

Here's a screen capture of what it looks like - trust me it's pretty easy to use.
